"Christmas Tapirs" Gray Fossil Site
5"x7", Acrylic, 140lb watercolor paper.
Copyrighted 2009. All rights reserved by artist. No unauthorized copying allowed.
I have been doing some volunteer work at the Gray Fossil Museum in Gray TN. So I designed some Christmas cards to give out. The Gray fossil site is the world's largest site for finding tapir fossils so it is natural that I would feature the neat extinct species of tapirs. "Winter Sleigh Ride"

Sold: 16"x20"x 5/8" gallery wrapped canvas.
Copyrighted 2009. All rights reserved by artist. No unauthorized copying allowed.
I thought it would be fun this week to do a Victorian Scene. So I present to you a snowy day, with children playing in the snow, friends visiting friends for the holidays and a wondrous ride in the sleigh with bells a tinkling. Oh yes, we can't forget the carolers.

"Snowy Winter's Night"

Copyrighted 2009. All rights reserved by artist. No unauthorized copying allowed.
This was a fun painting to do. In each of my folk art paintings I try hard to tell a story. In this one I present to you a snowy winter night at our farm. Yes, that really is the front of my farm house. So I guess that is me offering hot cocoa to the youngsters. My husband is coming from the barn carrying pails of milk while being chased by the cats. All the children in the neighborhood are having fun sledding down the hill while the horses look on in amazement. In the distance children are skating on a frozen pond and cows are grazing in a field.
