"The Barns"
Not for Sale at this time: Watercolor, archival, medium texture 140lb. paper 11" x 14”
Copyrighted 2008. All rights reserved by artist and no unauthorized copying is allowed.
My husband and I travel all over the countryside taking photos of subjects that interest me. This is a view of our barns, 50 feet from our house. Typical. I really liked the lichen on the old walnut tree and the hay ring leaning up on its side. It just seemed perfect for a watercolor study.

I enjoyed trying to capture the luminous yet transparent quality of the octopus. This one was done as an ACEO Trade Card

This is a break from the norm for me, but it has been running around in my head for a while so I finally decided to paint it. I think the great looming distorted house looming threateningly above the girl, shows the dread that the girl is feeling. I think we have all felt this way at times.

I am a bit burnt out on ACEOS right now so I thought I would go back to my canvases. I loved the dynamic movement of this swan. I used a very limited palette to achieve the effect I wanted.

Cats have such an intense look about them. I have done several cats lately trying to improve my technique. The intricate patterns of their fur are very challenging.

I love the colors and textures on this Beta. He always swims around like he owns the tank. And he does, since no other fish can live with him. Just look at his expression and the set of his stubborn mouth.
